About

Hi, my name is Peter. The idea for Damascus Road began when I took a short course in stained glass and leaded windows in 2010 with Bonnie Brooksbank of The Purple Glass Studio based in Loughborough.  I really enjoyed making a replacement window for the transom over our front door at home and fitting it.

I then went on to make other replacement windows for our Victorian house and have since enjoyed our visitor’s compliments. Having tried my hand on various courses ranging from picture framing to wood turning (pen making), nothing satisfied me like designing and cutting glass, then trying to piece it all together. I wanted to make and create something lasting, attractive and practical. I have now made several pieces, most of which have been given away as gifts.

It struck me that I took to leaded glass windows straight away, having grasped the basics etc. I have always liked looking at stained glass in its setting but had never tried creating it before. You could say it was my conversion moment, my road to Damascus!

I have lots of ideas and projects that I want to try. Please look at the gallery and bookmark me as I will be updating and adding content frequently.
